Gone Fishing - Tybee Island Beach

This weekend, I went over to Tybee Island, GA.  The beach is near the city of Savannah.  The rumor is that John Mellenkamp and Sandra Bullock have houses here but not sure if they still do.  It is a very popular area for the state of Georgia.  The population as of 2010 is approximately 3,000 so it still has the quaint feel to it.  Instead of high rise condos, there are typical beach homes, motels and small cottages dotting the shoreline. The fishing is great, also--I caught a sheepshead and whiting on a recent visit.

Here are some photos that I wanted to share with you......

  7. I visit Savannah every early spring, but have never gone to Tybee Island. Each year during my "girl's trip" we intend to get there but never do. This just might be our year. Your photos are so welcoming! I love the long beaches and the beach cottages!
    Good catch!

  8. Thanks for taking us on your weekend visit to Tybee. I've lived most of my life in GA and have never been to Tybee Island. Shame on me. :) I love coastal SC and GA and the decor and food. Thanks for following and I'm now following you to the Low Country.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

  9. Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog! You live in the coolest area! There are so many cool places for day trips. I'm jealous - we really miss Hilton Head. Looks like you are making the best of it! Williamsburg is treating us well so far - I also LOVE the Blue Talon! It's one of the first places we tried and we take our family and friends there when they visit. Too fun!

  11. It's freeeeeezing here, so I am GREEN with envy... what a beautiful spot. We are beach lovers, but it's way to bleak to head there right now. Washington state does not boast white sand beaches and sunshine. :-)

Let me know how you like the beet salad. We are crazy about it, and plan to serve it to guests this weekend. Hope they love it as much as we do.

    Have a great weekend.....

Going over to sign up as a follower right now.
