More Flower Planting

Today is a cloudy day here in SC, so I thought it would be a great idea to get some more planting done....I still have more to do but wanted to show you some Confederate Jasmine that I just bought at the local farmers market.  Eventually I want to plant it all around my picket fence.  I love the look of it and the fragrance is divine!

This is hopefully what my fence will look like once it has grown full size.  (see below)

Loving this look!

Here are some more plants that I bought.  They are called Lime Zinger Elephant Ears.

These are planted in front of my garage. I think I will go back to nursery and by some more plants to fill this area.  Perhaps some more types of elephant ears.  I just love these!  Will share more photos once plants fill in.

This is a shutter that I bought back in Pennsylvania and added a potted flower

Well better finish up in garden, a tropical storm is heading this way!

My New Pottery Barn Lamp and Master Bedroom Furniture Decision

Hi There,

Hope you are enjoying your long extended weekend!

I recently purchased a PB lamp for master bedroom and wanted to share it with you.  I have been "eyeing" this one for awhile.  While visiting the PB store in Charleston, I decided to buy it once I saw it in person.  The lampshade is my favorite, it is actually crewel work on it and I love the colors of rust, olive green and blues.

My furniture in this room is light pine and I am debating on whether to paint it or keep as is.  Any thoughts?  Have you ever painted over pine furniture?  Not sure if you can tell by my photos, but my wall color is olive green and it is actually growing on me.  Since there is three windows in the room, there is plenty of light.

This is just a peek of my bedroom, I have so many other things to do to this room which include:

keep furniture as is or paint  (I am not sure if I am ready to paint this since I like the furniture the way it is)

if decision is to paint, what color paint?

I have a new PB ivory comforter and want to add splashes of the same green in wall to my bedding (pillows, shams, etc).

Carpeting is a light beige

Bed is a iron bed with a antiqued finish

Once room is complete, I will share the finished project.
I just placed these photos in a collage via PicMonkey.  It was super easy!

Thanks for visiting.  Next post I will be sharing my art that I just purchased from the Beaufort Gullah Festival.  The original painting was done by a noted African artist.

From Orange to Brown

Hello There:

A few weeks ago, I came across this small wrought iron table at a nearby consignment shop.  It was a steal, however, the color of orange was not for me.  I still purchased it and decided to paint it a dark brown so I could use it for my screened porch.

Here are the before and after photos.

I wiped  the table down before lightly sanding

This is the paint that I used.......

Freshly painted

Here is where I will use it.

Hope you have a great week.  Thanks for visiting!

Screened Porch Reveal

Yes I have finally completed the screened porch. I just love this extra room, it is so bright and cheerful.  It is located off of my dining room towards the back of my home.  We have a small bistro table and two chairs out there and many times we have our dinner there!  I also do my reading and knitting out on this porch.

Here are some photos of before and afters.

The original floors were a darker brown
The is floor after painted, new screens were also inserted

Now for the reveal:

Rug - Dash & Albert

This is the bistro table that I have placed on other side of wall

How about some celery stuffed with pimento cheese or some strawberries?  YUM!!
I bought new cushions and wren pillows for wicker set
The table on the right was purchased at a consignment shop and I repainted it brown
This is a lemon cyprus.  If you rub the leaves between your fingers, it gives off a lemony scent.
The rug just brings out the blue in floors!
Close up of table and rusty garden tool (actually a door knocker) I use it for holding napkins
Had to purchase this since it coordinates with my flooring.......

I love this planter, it resembles a faucet

This is my other giveaway winning from Savvy Southern Style blog.

There is Lola in the background, can you see her?

Another purchase that I could not resist!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my porch reveal.  Sorry there were tons of photos to share!

Thanks for visiting!

Corn Toss Boards

Have you ever played corn toss?  We'll down here in Beaufort, SC, there are many tournaments held at local eateries.

When I was a child, I would play corn toss at local fairs.  I also played it last year when I was visiting my sister in Oregon.

Once I moved into my new home, I found this shop near me that sold corn toss boards which you could customize yourself.  I thought they were so cool, so I decided to order a set.  One board is dedicated to my German Shepherd, Lola and the other one is a themed one based on the coast of where I live.

Aren't they adorable?  It is really fun playing this and when I have family visiting I know my nieces and nephews will also enjoy playing it.  It is a fun summer game for family at picnics too!
