Fresh From the Market

This morning, I visited my local farmer's market in Port Royal, SC.  There are so many farmer's markets near me, but I prefer this one.  I like to get there at 8:30 in the morning just when they put out all their fresh produce.

Nothing is better than a nice delicious peach in the summer or some fresh vegetables.  In fact, I will be cooking fresh green beans along with some corn tonight for my dinner.  YUM!

I am also thinking about making a pasta salad with some of the other vegetables that I purchased!  Will share a post on that too!  I love making layered salads in the summer using all fresh vegetables.  They are great  for entertaining for the summer months and easy to prepare.

Hope you enjoy your weekend.  Stay cool!

  1. Oh Wow, these look great. I just love fresh produce. Peaches look yummy. I love fresh green beans. We prepare them and roll them up in tin foil before putting them onto the grill. But first we add some chopped garlic, olive oil and a bit of salt and pepper.

  7. Great minds think alike! I was at the Farmer's Market, too. I bought corn, peaches, broccoli and tomatoes. My tomatoes are almost ripe so then I won't have to buy any. Love your food scale!

  9. Looks like you got a lot of wonderful produce at the Farmers Market! I'm sure it will taste better than what you get at the grocery store. I love corn on the cob. I could eat it every night! I also see a cantaloupe. Yum! Enjoy!
