Guest Bedroom Reveal

Hello There,

I want to share one of my guest bedroom's with all of you.

The bed is solid rock maple which I choose not to paint.

The side table was purchased in Bluffton, SC at a interior design shop.  I chose the paint color and am very happy with the result.  Lamp - Ballard Design, Vintage Clock - Luckett's

I switched this painting from living room to this room

Pillow - Pottery Barn

Pottery Barn Rug, French Flower Bucket
To Do List:  Find something to hang over bed which is very low.  I am thinking about vintage ironstone plates, any suggestions?  Also am working on one of the other walls in the bedroom with a dresser and cannot find what I want to decorate the wall.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my guest bedroom.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. It looks like you're doing a great job on the guest bedroom. I don't blame you for not wanting to paint the maple bed. I really like your striped rug and flower bucket. I'm still working on my guest bedroom from last month, and I need something to go over my bed too. Plates are good, except that I get nervous that they'll fall on someone's head in the middle of the night. LOL

  4. Your room looks great! How would you feel about adding a little "beachy" stuff to the room. Maybe some sail boats, shells, etc. White ironstone plates would look fabulous over the bed. With your blue and white I think you could get away with about anything you decide on. It's a really pretty room. Your guests will feel very welcome there.

  11. Very cozy!
Your twig bouquet reminds me of my grandmother...she'd often have what she called "settings" created from twigs, branches, dried flowers, etc

  12. HI Kelly! How ya doing down there in Beaufort? I've been thinking of you!

The room looks lovely and serene too. I'm sure you will think of just the right thing to put above your bed with your creativity! Love that side table!

We finally got tons of much needed rain last night along with thunder. Did you get the storm too? Right now it looks like something is rolling in as the wind is picking up and the sky is getting dark.

I've just started a home decorating blog too (the link is at the bottom of my latest post)

    :)

  14. The pictures {signs} are from World Market in Summerville. I go in there waaaay too much LOL. They were both half price and then the one Antiques sigh was half off and then the last time I was in there they were back up to the original price (go figure) I'm just glad I got them at the price I did.

  15. Oh Kelly I just love the blue color of this room. I love the open window with the sheers hanging from them. I can just imagine a soft breeze coming in on a summers day. Like you mentioned about the bed and I agree, some things are NOT meant to be painted.

  16. This is just lovely Kelly. You are so smart to layer your rug over the carpet. Adds a perfect pop of color. Good job!

  17. Cozy and I adore that soft blue paint color. The rug ties it all together. I am a S.C. girl. I grew up in Aiken county right by the nuclear plant and have a vacation house on the S.C. side of the river in North Augusta, S.C. We plan to move there one day soon. Thanks so much for visiting me. 18. I'm loving the look of your guestroom and that's a great idea to use ironstone plates. Maybe hang them in sort of an arch to give the bed more height. That rug and flower bucket look great too.
