Edisto Beach

This weekend was so beautiful here in SC, that we decided to visit Edisto Beach which is located north of Beaufort near Charleston. Have any of you ever been there or heard of  this area? It is a very, small town with a population of approximately 700. The beaches are beautiful and Edisto is considered a uncommercialized, family oriented place to stay. It is located off the beaten path so it is not as busy as other beaches.  Here are some photos that I wanted to share. This beach is not as well known at Hilton Head or Kiawah.

"Picture Perfect" day for the beach

Seashells at the Seashore

I usually choose my own path.....

Gathered some shells to make my initial.....

Have you ever seen a shell like this one?  It sort of reminded me of a toadstool!!!

Geechie Boy Market and Mill

This market sold grits, vegetables and of course tomatoes!!!

Tomato Farm
After our walk on beach, we stopped by a near by cafe for a small bite.

Thanks for your visit...Hope you enjoyed viewing Edisto!!

  16. Just discovered this beach last year on a trip to SC to visit my Mother and we absolutely LOVE it. I have never been a huge fan of Myrtle Beach because it is so crowded and commercialized. Edisto is a great alternative. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Makes me wish I could go back now. BTW I am a new follower.

  17. I live in SC, and one of my good friends grew up there. She wanted to have a group of girls go up for a girls weekend. So we did this past summer. Can I just say Edisto will never be the same LOL! It was fabulous, but I will say the locals did not find us that charming. They did once they talked to us if we were out, otherwise we got stared down. I sure did love the beach and the food was some of the best seafood I have had. Your pics are gorgeous.
