Hilton Head Island Walk

Happy Monday!

This weekend was so beautiful here in the Low Country.  One of my favorite things to do is to walk the beach in Hilton Head Island, SC.  I love walking on the beach barefooted and smelling the marine air.  Something about the beach is so relaxing and refreshing to me!

Here are some shots that I took while on my walk.

Wouldn't this be lovely to rent out this McMansion for a family gathering?

Pelican dive-bombing in water to catch some fish, can you see it?

When driving into my neighborhood, I was greeted  by an egret at our pond!

Taos Drum Table and Original Art

Hello everyone:

How is your week so far?  I had a busy week, my mother and her friend visited me.  We all had so much fun and kept busy!  I will share another post on our time together.

Did I ever tell you that I was going to move to Arizona years ago?  While visiting the Southwest, I fell in love with some of the art and especially my Taos Drum.  Since we did not make the big move to Arizona years ago, I just could not part with some of the artwork.

I have included photos of one of my oil panting along with my drum table.  This table has been a great piece and definitely has been a conversation piece.  When my nieces and nephews would visit me, they would also play on the drum and dance.

I love to mix in my favorite pieces from the Southwest to my existing decorating style.   It is a challenge but also fun.

The blue in the oil painting looks great also in this room since my ceilings are painted blue.

We purchased this oil painting from a gallery in Tucson, Arizona.  Artist - Marlene Smith

The top of the table is rawhide, so sturdy

Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for visiting!

Demijohn and Old Salvaged Window

Hope you are having a great week so far.

I wanted to share with you my demijohn find.  It was a great deal so I could not resist, found it in a consignment shop near me.  The wickerwork is in great shape too!

Also the salvaged window was also a steal, I just cleaned it up and repainted it!  I love it here in my living room but have changed it around in other rooms in my home previously.

Hopefully will try to finish up screened porch, however, I am waiting for new cushions before I show it!  I will be having another paint party coming soon which will include painting my picket fence.  Does anyone want to join in?

Thanks for visiting!

Porch Transformation

Well here is my final photos to share with you.  I didn't think I was going to have this completed by my deadline, however, I just made it.  I am having company soon so I wanted to have the porch completed.

Here are some before photos - floors were a brown color and shutters were a shade of green and brown.  I really love the new blue color that i chose for the shutters and floor.  I also used oil  porch paint for shutters and flooring so it had to dry completely between coats.
