Hunting Island State Park, SC

This week I went to visit Hunting Island State Park.  It is a barrier island located a few miles from Beaufort.  We decided to purchase a yearly pass where you can enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, and boating.

The Vietnam jungle scenes from the movie, Forrest Gump were filmed here.  Imagine Tom Hanks running through this foliage with Bubba!

It was a picture, perfect day!  Nothing is better than inhaling fresh salty air and walking on the beach with sand between your toes!

Lovely driftwood

This photo reminds me of when I was on Tahiti, love it!

After our walk on the beach, we picked some strawberries at a nearby farm and had them for dessert.  Nothing is better than picking them straight from the vine!  They were so delicious!

Thanks for your visit!

  5. All my life I have been going to Hunting Island. If you did not know, once the beach was further out by several hundred yards. The lighthouse used to be a hike from the beach. Our family camped there many a week. It is a truly beautiful place to visit.
