How About Some Sweet Tea on My Front Porch?

Hello There, Hope you are having a great week so far!

Thanks for joining me for some sweet tea!

Well - yes I finally just finished my front porch makeover. I had new cushions made for my wicker sofa. The cushions are covered in Sunbrella fabric (fade resistant) material. The stripes include the colors of blue, green, and tan and brown.

I love my front porch!   It is a great place to relax, read, play cards or a board game or have a conversation with a friend or family.  Or on that day, you just need that glass of WINE!

Well I hope you enjoyed seeing my front porch!  Thanks for your visit.

Have you ever thought of changing things up on your front porch?

My Coastal Blue Door

I  have always loved the color that I chose for my front door. I have received many compliments on the color of my door via my blog, Facebook, friends and neighbors. I even had a drive by my home recently, and a woman got out and asked me the color of my door! Since we live close to the ocean, I wanted to give the house a "beachy" feel.

The color blue is soothing to me and reminds me of the ocean and sky.  No wonder it is the number one color!

Here are my home exterior paint colors:

Paint Palette
Body and trim: Lambswool (2269) by Pratt & Lambert; prattandlambert.com.
Shutters/Door: Blue Spa (2052-40) by Benjamin Moore; benjaminmoore.com.

Now I have to get busy with decorating the rest of my front porch.  I hope you will stop back once I make my reveal.

What color is your front door?

Thanks for stopping by!

Banana Cupcakes with Honey Cinnamon Frosting

I have made these banana cupcakes (Martha Stewart recipe) before and they were a success so I wanted to share them with you.  When making this recipe, I use the ripest bananas and always add an extra one too!  I love to taste the extra banana!!!

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, (spooned and leveled)
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 ripe bananas), plus 1 whole banana, for garnish (optional)
2 large eggs
 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a standard 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Step 2 Make a well in center of flour mixture. In well, mix together butter, mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla. Stir to incorporate flour mixture (do not over mix). Dividing evenly, spoon batter into muffin cups. Step 3 Bake until a toothpick inserted in center of a cupcake comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pan; cool completely on a wire rack. Spread tops with Honey-Cinnamon Frosting. Just before serving, peel and slice banana into rounds, and place one on each cupcake, if desired.

Frosting Ingredients

1 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tablespoon honey
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Step 1 In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat confectioners' sugar, unsalted butter, honey, and ground cinnamon until smooth, 4 to 5 minutes.

Bon Appetit!  Now I need to make a cup of coffee and enjoy a cupcake!  YUM!

Have a wonderful week!

Come Check Out My Vintage Finds from Pennsylvania

Hello, While visiting Pennsylvania in June, I took a day to visit some of my favorite places that I loved to shop when I lived there! Here are some finds that I purchased and wanted to share with you. This french market basket was something that I have been looking and wanting for a quite a long time....So I came across this one and bought it.....I love the look of it along with the cute little wheels.

I actually paid only $75 for this and knew it was a great deal.  Lately I have been seeing them listed as high as $150 and not in the best of shape.

See the linen above?  My mother bought this for me for my birthday.  It is also a vintage bureau scarf that I draped over the back of basket....This piece is also in great condition.....Love it!!!!

I also visited one of my favorite shops, Acorn Cottage Style.....I had so much fun in there since I had a gift certificate from my husband he gave me for my birthday.....I was like a little kid in a candy shop, HA!

Now check out the vintage linen pillow that I found there.....

I love the intricate hand embroidery on it along with the cute little red buttons. This is now one of my favorite pillows....If you already don't know, I have a crush on pillows!!  The pillow was embroidered sometime in the 1950s and is in excellent shape.....

Oh and guess what else I found?  Well I will share with you another time.....

Have you found any vintage finds lately?

Thanks for stopping by.
