My 2014 To Do List Around the House

Well since it is 2014 and a new year, I went around my home to see what I would like to add to my "to do" list for this year. Since moving to my home over two years ago,  there are still some projects that I would like to do hopefully this year.

First I would like to add pendant lighting to my kitchen bar area (yes I have finally chosen the pendant lighting that I fell in love with and will be adding to my kitchen.   I found them at Pottery Barn!!!

I also want to add bead board to our downstairs powder room.

In my living room, I want to change my coffee table or paint a blanket chest that I already have.

In our master bedroom, I might want to add some crown molding and paint room.

My stair case might get a little cosmetic update.  I have been seeing all over Pinterest on how the typical oak banister's and staircases have been painted and I am really loving the look.  See below.

I am sure there will be other things added gradually but not sure when they will be actually completed.  Oh and also I will be sharing some great news with you all soon!  Be sure to stop back!

  1. Great plans for the New Year Kelly. At my previous home I painted the stair railings white and liked them so much better than the oak. Here I have iron. Not what I love, but it came with the house. lol! I have projects brewing in this head of mine too.

  2. Oh I love the pendant lights. I hope you will share the changes. Happy New Year! Bonnie

  3. Oh- Good luck on your list! I have quite a list of things I would like to get done this year, too. I need to do the laundry room but am waiting to see if I am going to need a new washer/dryer first. xo Diana

  4. Looks like you've got a good list to work with! I love those pendant lights, too.

  5. Oh Kelly I am with you on the black painted stair cases. Again, I have no plans beyond the next day. best, olive

  6. You have some good ideas for the new year. Great inspirational photos.

  7. We have declared 2014 as the "Year of the House". We just finished making a new tabletop for our dining room table, had the stone mason in yesterday to get started on totally redoing our cobblestone patio, and changed out our guest room to a creative space for me. Then there are all the little switches that need to be made.

I look forward to seeing what you do in your house.

  8. It's nice to have goals for the new year. My list is so long that it makes me shutter! I think I need to be a little reasonable and cut it down a bit! LOL
