Brunch at Fat Hen - John's Island, SC

On Mother's Day, I had brunch at Fat Hen on  John's Island, SC near Charleston.  I have read several great reviews on this restaurant so we thought we would give it a try.

This trellis was covered with jasmine on the outside deck.  I also love the colorful bird houses that hang there!

The menu consists of low-country French cuisine.  There were so many delicious things that were offered that I liked so I had to narrow it down to one.  My final decision was BBQ Brisket and Macaroni & Cheese Open-Faced Sandwich and Pomme Frites. My husband had the Fat Hen Burrito (eggs, Chorizo sausage with avocado, red and green peppers).

We also ordered a carafe of Mimosa's.  They were perfect!  We were seated inside and the restaurant was clearing out once we began to eat so I was able to take some quick photos.  There was also outside seating which would have been perfect that day!

Love the wall of whisk brooms

After brunch, we wanted to walk on the beach at Kiawah Island, however, rain clouds started rolling in and we did not want to take the chance.  We will make another visit very soon!

I would highly recommend the Fat Hen if you are ever near the Charleston/Kiawah Island area.
