Dutch Doors

Hello There,

How is your week going?  It has been rainy here in North Carolina but I am still able to get out and do my daily jog so I can't complain too much!

I wanted to share some inspirational photos of dutch doors.  Yes - I love dutch doors and would love to have one in my next home. (Crossing fingers!)

  1. Oh I love Dutch Doors!! I only remember actually seeing one or two in person ever. I guess here in Texas the weather tends to be so extreme we wouldn't be able to open it much. I do hope you get one. :)

  2. I have to go with #1 since it matches my house colors.

I grew up with a Dutch door. We added one to our cottage and I must say it was one of the best investments. It ended up costing much more than the original quote because our door was an odd size, but it was worth every penny. Everyone knows that when the top of the door is open that they are welcome to pop in. The cross breeze is wonderful when it is a hot day - we don't have air conditioning here at the beach.

I love them all really. So excited to see if you get one.

  5. I love that first one and I also like the one off the more formal foyer. We had a dutch door in our first house and I just loved it. xo Diana

  6. I think my favorite is blue one. Blue dutch doors would give a house so much personality.

  7. I love dutch doors as well! I have an old one I bought in my garage waiting to go on my future garden shed. We cleared a space up on the hill this Fall, but will take hubby some time to build.

  8. I really love the last one for its clean lines and simplicity. Kelly, did you change the name of your blog? Your posts are always so cheery and bright!

    Happy New Year!

  9. They are all beautiful. Our farmhouse in Ireland had one and they were essential in keeping the free range chickens from entering the kitchen. How would they work in a country where mosquitos and flies are an issue?

    Have a delightful week
