Brunch at Rue Cler - Durham, NC

This morning, we visited one of my favorite restaurants, Rue Cler for brunch.  Rue Cler is a Parisan style restaurant located in downtown Durham.

Sorry photos were taken by IPhone......

My food was incredible. We first started with ordering their mouthwatering beignets.  They were to die for.  My main entree was the Croque Madame– Ham, Gruyere, Sauce Mornay.  My husband enjoyed French Toast with fresh blueberries.

I felt like I was back eating in Paris again, well almost!

If you are ever in the Durham area, don't forget to stop by and try Rue Cler.  I know you will enjoy as much as I do!

Have a lovely weekend!

My Valentine Dessert

I have been finding so many recipes on Pinterest lately and thought I would make a special one for Valentines Day.

There are so many to choose from but I found the perfect one.  I chose the Tres Leches Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce and it was to die for.  Why not splurge on this special day?

I make a Tres Leches cake which is one of my favorites so I thought this would be great to try also.  It is made with French bread and three milks.

Recipe can be found here.

I hope you had a lovely Valentines Day too!  Did you enjoy a heavenly dessert too?

I love this basket, I think I would add dried Hydrangeas to it!

Mixed Korean Bistro - Chapel Hill, NC

Have you ever tried Korean food?  Well I have to say that I am addicted to the Mixed Korean Bistro here in Chapel Hill.

I love the lighting and the simple decor too!  Did you see the different colored tub chairs in the above photo?

We ate there last week and it was awesome!  After my daily run, I felt like something very healthy so we decided on some Korean food. My favorite so far is the Bibimpab, a Korean dish served with rice and topped with sauteed/seasoned vegetables.  You can also add protein to the dish such as seasoned beef, chicken or egg.  Chili paste is also an addition to this wonderful dish.  You mix all ingredients in the bowl when served and VOILA!  I usually order the hot stone (Dolsat) when ordering this dish!

My favorite Bibimbap is mixed rice served in a hot bowl (dolsat) and served with sauteed spinach, shittake mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, carmelized onions and chili paste. I usually add chicken to the top.

Here is a menu that you browse, see here.  Oh, and their pork buns are awesome too.

So if you are ever in the Chapel Hill area, I would highly recommend Mixed Korean Bistro!

Almost Half Way There

Happy February!

I can't believe that almost six months have gone by for me.  Yes I only have about six more months until I find my Home Sweet Home!  Hurray!  Can you tell that I am excited?

I cannot believe time flies by so quickly.  Do I know where I will be living?  No.  I am still not sure, however, not really interested in where I am now, a little too busy for me!  (Although people are nice that I have met and I have found some gorgeous homes here, too!)

The next six months will be a busy time for me....I will have to start searching and visiting neighborhoods that I like, and meet with a realtor.

During the next six months here in my rental, I am planning:

A celebration of my granddaughter, Madison who will turn 1 year old in April.

Enjoying a trip to Europe sometime in May -- details almost finished.  (So excited for this one!)

And of course, pack, and clean our current rental.

But the one I am really looking forward to is finding the perfect home for me!  Oh, the decorating will be so much fun, too!  I can't wait until the fun BEGINS!
