CanvasPop Review, Discount and GIVEAWAY

I am so excited to share about a online printing company called CanvasPop today. Recently I was contacted by them (an online printing company with a huge passion for quality art, photography and home decor) to review their product and I am so glad that I accepted the offer.

I was offered a beautiful canvas of a photo that I had made from our trip to Moorea, TAHITI.  We stayed in a over water bungalow in which I will always love and cherish!  So why not have it made into a beautiful canvas?  I just provided them with the photo and they made any necessary changes or recommendations.  It was a very easy process to follow, I just sent them my photo and then they reviewed it and did mention that my photo would be blurry if I had made it into a 16 x 20 so therefore I chose a smaller size.  They then sent me a proof for my approval and off it went into production.  I was very pleased with CanvasPop and would definitely use them again for my home decor.

I found a temporary home for my canvas for now since I am still in my rental and this room was the best colored wall that the photo would pop!  I am looking forward to ordering more of my vacation photos and having them made into canvases from CanvasPop for my future home.

Oh how I Loved our Over the Water Bungalow......

CanvasPop is also offering my readers a 35% off discount with no restrictions in size (not valid towards shipping).  The code would only be valid for orders shipping within the US or Canada.  The code would need to be redeemed within two (2) months.  Discount code:  SMILES35

Now for the giveaway:
To enter, please click here.

CanvasPop will be giving away one 16x20 canvas print with a 0.75" deep wrap including free shipping to one of my lucky readers!  How does that sound?  Winner will be chosen by CanvasPop.

Good luck to all of you!

Packing for My Trip To Europe

I can't believe I will be leaving for my trip to Europe in less than 3 weeks from now.  If you missed the post on where I am visiting, see here.

My husband and I have been busy planning our days with activities and I have been working on getting together my wardrobe.

I have been to Europe several times and I always pack lightly yet my clothes are also chosen based on comfort.  I am bringing outfits that require no ironing (who wants to iron while they are on vacation?) and are yet fashionable.

#1, #2 and #8 comfortable shirts and tees (mostly cotton) will be worn.

#3 - I love wearing maxi dresses.  They are sooooo comfortable.

#4 - Will also be bringing along some shorts.

#5 - I always pack a light jacket or sweater with me. May is a perfect time to visit Berlin and Prague as the weather will be around 65 degrees.

#6 and # 7 - Shoes are also important on a vacation -- you want to make sure that you have comfortable shoes depending on your daily activity.  We are planning a bike tour in Prague so I will also be bringing along my sneakers not listed on this mood board.   (I also have a pair of driving moccasins that I will tuck in my luggage).  I just recently bought these Franco Sarto Sandals and Sperry canvas sneakers.

#9 - Also packing some scarves to accessorize my outfits.

#10 - Will be packing some maxi skirts too!  I thought I could wear this during the evening when we are going out to dinner.

Here are some great packing tips that I recently pinned.

May is the time when the flowers are at their most colorful in Prague, making it a great month to visit the city’s gardens.

Thanks for your visit!  Have a lovely week.

Coconut Strawberry Smoothie

Hi There,

Today after my run, I wanted to try a new smoothie that I recently found in a magazine.  It is made with coconut water.  Have you ever tried coconut water?  Well, I am a coconut lover so I knew I would love it as soon as I tried it.

There are great benefits of drinking coconut water which include:
  •  Low in carbs
  • 99% fat free
  • Low in sugars
  • More potassium than most sports drinks

IPhone Pic

1 - 8 ounce coconut water
1/2 c. Greek Style Plain Yogurt
1 cup frozen strawberries or raspberries
1 -2 tablespoons honey

Mix all ingredients in blender and serve.

I think you will enjoy it.  Let me know if you try this recipe.

Have a lovely weekend!

My Mom's Quilts

Today I am going to share some talent that my Mom has and that is making quilts.  Yes - my mother is a very talented lady.  Not only does she quilt, she sews, crochets and knits (she has helped me with a knitting project that I have been working on for quite awhile now).

Let's start with the lime and blue color quilt below.  I love this one with the vibrant colors and fun pattern.

Pennsylvania Fieldstones Pattern

My mom also initials the back of some of her quilts

Summer Cottage Pattern -- I love the vibrant colors in this one....

Check out the Vintage Tie Quilt below.  This was made by my mother's grandmother. My great grandmother made all of us (my sisters and brother) one.  This is something I will always cherish!  Tie quilts were made from scraps of fabric and then tied with a type of thread.

Here is another vintage quilt below.  This was my mother's as a child.  I love the pastel soft colors on this one.  The back of the quilt is lined with grain sacks.

Thimbleberries Pattern

Holiday Quilt - below - love the reds, greens, turquoise in this piece.  The border has a holiday motif added too!

Blitz Pattern with Moda fabric

Well this is just a small selection that I have featured.  Yes she does have many more and still quilting more!  I love them and how she has made so many different patterned ones too!

Mom, thanks for letting me share your beautiful talent and collection of quilts today!

**All of my mother's quilts are machine stitched and the batting and backing are sent out to a local lady who quilts with a longarm machine.

Easter 2015

I had Easter with family back in Pennsylvania this year and it was held at my sister's home.

The weather was so pleasant and we were able to have a small Easter egg hunt outside which is always fun.  Everyone was able to attend except two of my sisters and their family.  My brother provided the spiral ham (it is nice having a chef in the family), I made Dauphinoise potatoes, scalloped pineapple and homemade brownie cookies.  My sister made grilled asparagus and my mother made cheesecake cupcakes and a salad with romaine lettuce, avocado, cheese, roasted corn, black beans that was drizzled with a dressing which included salsa and deviled eggs.

Now for the Easter egg hunt.....

Then for the grand finale, we played Left Center Right dice game!  What a perfect game for a big family like mine!  It was hysterical!  And I have to tell you, when our family gets together we are a LOUD group!

Some more random shots of my other nieces and nephew that were not at Easter dinner.

I even made one of Caden's lacrosse game while visiting.

So what did you do for Easter?  Did you spend it with family and friends?

Delicious Brownie Cookies

While vising family back in Pennsylvania, I was asked to bring some dessert for our Easter dinner.  I  I came up with these cookies and so glad that I did.  They were a hit!  See recipe here.

I would definitely make these again!  So did you have a nice Easter?  I sure did!

Have a great week!

Easter 2015 Tablescape

Hello There,

Hope you are enjoying your week.  I wanted to share my Easter/Spring tablescape that I made up for my dining room.

I used my recent jellybean branches as a centerpiece.  If you missed this post, you can view it here.  White plates were used along with my Easter Egg plates.  I love using pastel colors during Spring too!  Some added touches that I also used were a basket of eggs for texture, bunny candy holder, felt bunny and egg cups filled with colorful jellybeans......I had to dig and dig through boxes and boxes in storage just to come up with this little tablescape but I like how it turned out afterall!  I definitely would have included fresh flowers on table if I was entertaining....

Wishing you a lovely Easter to you and your family.  I am actually going to be away for the week and will share some more photos when I return.

I adore these egg shaped plates --

Thanks for your visit!
