Embracing Summer

As I write this post, I can't believe it is August and soon it will be Fall.

Summer is one of my favorite months.  I love wearing sandals, flip flops, dining al fresco, walking at nights, vacations, beaches,  and mini weekend getaways.

Pool time with nieces and nephew

In May, I went to Berlin and Prague for vacation - it was so wonderful and looking forward to visiting Europe again soon!

We also went for a weekend getaway to Asheville, NC at a beautiful Bed & Breakfast.

Al Fresco Dining

Kure Beach, NC

There is nothing better than  making meals during the summer months using fresh vegetables and fruits.

Roasted Asparagus

Blueberry Crisp

Spending time at the pool too was also needed during the summer months.  I am so glad that our community pool does not close until Mid-September!

This summer was also great going to concerts (James Taylor, Dave Matthews Band and Steely Dan_.  We also went to outdoor music festivals nearby.

Sorry not a good photo from Iphone

Now I am looking forward to some cooler weather.  I love wearing layers, sweaters, jeans, scarves, boots, and hats.  Also I love making homemade soups, stews for the colder months ahead.  Always love to add fall touches to my home with pumpkins, mums and gourds, a burn a pumpkin spice candle in the home!  Sitting by the firplace is also one of my favorite things to do in the colder months!

Are you looking forward to Fall?

  1. Looking firwRd to Fall too soo hot here. Fall is my favorite season Can't wait to see your new home decorated for Fall.

  2. Fall is one of our nicest seasons. The beach is beautiful and uncrowded, the temperatures are perfect and the days are still long enough for a leisurely walk or bike ride after dinner.

  3. You have had a lovely summer! I always look forward to fall, but I don't want to rush summer out the door just yet...I know the long cold winter comes all too quickly once fall is here!

  4. I am SO looking forward to fall, it is very very hot here. But we usually have to navigate a very hot September before we get there :-)
