Hodgepodge Wednesday

I have noticed that my friend Carla, from the the blog,, joining in some fun on Wednesday Hodgepodge from the blog, From This Side of the Pond. I thought I would join in the fun of Wednesday Hodgepodge.  So here we go!

1. When was the last time you relocated? Did you move yourself or leave it to the professionals? Are you happy staying put or is there a move in your future? Best thing about moving to a new city or town? Least favorite and/or hardest thing about moving house?

The last time I moved (we moved ourselves) was nearly a year ago from Beaufort, SC to the RTP area of North Carolina.  The best thing to moving to a new area was exploring the new area, trying out new restaurants in the area visiting the beach (yes it was 15 minutes from where I lived.)  My least favorite was transferring all the medical records from my previous home, finding new doctors and dentist, and unpacking.  I moved from SC due to the crime nearby and did not feel safe on the coast.

2. When were you last 'moved to tears'? Explain.

Moving and leaving my family back in Pennsylvania.  Although I am blessed that I visit 3-4 times per year!

3. Do you have rules about eating in the car...any forbidden foods? What's the last thing you consumed in your car? Your go-to car snack when traveling long distance?

I do not eat in my car.  I might have coffee on the run.  My go to car snack consists of fruit, pretzels and crackers.

4.  Share a favorite song relating to cars and/or driving.

Take it Easy - The Eagles

5.  What's your most frequently visited drive-thru...Starbucks? the bank? the pharmacy? some other window?

6. "He who hesitates is lost"...would you agree? When it comes to making decisions do you generally act quickly or do you more often than not fall into the 'lost' category?

One of my weaknesses here, I tend to hesitate and do not act quickly in most situations.  I wish I could act more quickly with situations though.

7. When was the last time you got lost? Was it stressful or an unexpected happy adventure?

The lsst time I got lost was when we moved to Raleigh to our new rental.  Seriously, I have never seen some many homes and streets in this area where we live. There were so many different routes to get to our home.  It actually took us about a week to find different ways to our home

  1. Hi,
    Happy you joined in. :-)
I am glad you are able to visit your family.
I like your song choice. :-)

  2. P.S. I did not know the reason you moved. How sad crime has to be an issue.
    Hope things will change.

  3. Kelly, this was a neat post! Always neat to learn more about a blogging buddy! So sad that you had to leave beautiful Beaufort and your pretty home because of crime! Raleigh is a hard area to learn, lol! I finally found my way around until Ashley moved to Cary. Now I get lost going the 6 miles to her apartment from the mall. And I think my GPS takes me a different way every time! Ha! ~Rhonda

  4. Hi Kelly
Your move seems a positive one. Like you, I do not eat in my car.
Hope you are having a wonderful summer

  5. I have a friend in the Beaufort area. I didn't know it was high crime. We've just moved to the Greenville (SC) area, but are building a house on Lake Keowee so will move again once it's completed. Ground breaking will hopefully happen in the next few weeks. Thanks for joining the HP today!

  6. I love Take it Easy.... or any other song they did for that matter!! =) blessings and hugs ~ tanna

  7. Always love your posts. Love Take it Easy and The Eagles too!

  8. Dropping in from the Hodgepodge list. Nice post and great song choice.

  9. It's nice to get to know a few more things about you. That's a great rule not to eat in your car. I started off with that rule, but since then have broken it. That's why my car looks weathered I think haha. And I really like Carla. She's a sweet blog friend of mine.

Enjoy the rest of the summer days.
