Deciding on a Paint Color for Powder Room

Today I am going to share with you some paint samples for my upcoming paint project in my powder room.  I love the color blue so therefore am thinking about using it in this room.

The room is now a creamy white (in fact all the rooms in my new home) were just freshly painted so therefore there is no need to paint but I want to do this room in blue since it is one of my favorite colors.  My dining room and master bath are painted in a gray tone so therefore I will not change those rooms since I am in love with them!

Here are a couple of photos of the powder room as it is now.  (I know just plain, very little decor).  In fact, I did not hang anything on the walls since I knew this would be the first room to paint.

It was a difficult room to photograph.  I just might go outside and thru the powder room window to take the reveal once it is painted.  We will see how it works out!

Again, my home is fairly new (less than 10 years old) so therefore I will be keeping the pedestal sink. The mirror and sconce lighting will be changed.  I also have been shopping around my area for new decor items to add to this room!  (area rugs for the hardwood flooring, decorative accessories, art, etc)

Here is the sconce above that will be replaced with a farmhouse style light.  I found a couple that I think would look great over top the pedestal.

I love that the room has a window in it for some light too!

So here are the paint samples that I am looking at now and hopefully will be making a decision soon.  I really would like to start this painting project (and of course some decor to the room) when I return from my family visit.

Bali - Benjamin Moore

Blue Danube - Benjamin Moore

Poolside - Benjamin Moore

Sioux Falls - Benjamin Moore

Ocean Breeze - Benjamin Moore

Palladian - Benjamin Moore

I can't wait to grab the paintbrush and get painting once I get back from visiting my family.

Make sure to stop by to see the final reveal!!!

  1. Painting that room will make such a dramatic difference. Have fun . . . I know that I would. Even the smallest of rooms can have so much impact and interest and paint is by far the number one best tool :)

  2. It will be fun to see this room come together! It's going to be pretty!

  3. Love the options of blue you've chosen for the powder room! Can't wait to see it painted and accessorized! Have fun on your trip home... wishing you safe travels! :) ~Rhonda

  4. Love all the colors but I think #2 would make such a dramatic statement!!

  5. You know how I love blue. :-)) I like number 2!! Our bathroom is a dark blue and love it. I am excited to see what you decide. Carla

  6. Can''t wait to see it. I have used the Bali and LOVE it! It will be fun to see what you pick. I am finally back after my long break! xo Diana

  7. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the color and accessories. Oh, this is exciting, Kelly, I love decorating.

  8. Ooooo, I look forward to seeing what you choose for your powder room. I love blue in the home, and don't have much of it except for my blue couches. Have fun painting. : )
