Hooray! It's Summer

Well it's summer!  Can you believe it?  It has been a great summer so far!  I am looking forward to some more day trips that we are planning in the fall when it cools down. Currently I am working on plans to visit Boone, Blowing Rock and Asheville, NC and then a trip to Pennsylvania.

Summer to means fresh flowers!  I love to have fresh flowers in my home especially during the summer months since they are so plentiful!  There are so many to choose from and I love buying bouquets from the local farmer's market, too!

Some of my favorite blooms are hydrangeas, peonies, roses and of course sunflowers!!

I currently have hydrangeas in my home.  You can arrange flowers in so many containers -- I like using vintage bottles and mason jars.

On my recent visit to Colonial Williamsburg, VA I came across this beauty in Williamsburg at Home. I have always swooned over tiger maple and I just feel in love with it!  It fits perfectly in a corner in my dining room.

Love the apron and spoon legs on this beauty!

I went to a Pop Up Tent art show and came home with this adorable piglet!  The artist is so talented! She creates her paintings on old reclaimed barn wood.  There were so many to choose from, I know I will be visiting her sometime soon for some more fun art for my home!

I hope you are enjoying your summer!

  1. It's wonderful to have summer upon us.

I love your dough bowl - been thinking that I need to find one.

  2. So cute! I love the piggy. I love your soft colors too.

  3. That table was a great find, very pretty! The flowers in the blue jars are beautiful! Sounds like you have a busy summer planned... enjoy! :) ~Rhonda

  4. your flowers look so pretty as do your lemons. I love lemons!

  5. Great post. Your flowers are gorgeous. That little table is a great find. Love it - also the piggy picture. So cute.

  6. I love doing little things around the house to mark the seasons, and summer does call for fruit and flowers. Your home is looking lovely.

  7. Your home looks so lovely during the summer. The corner table is pretty, and I love the blue glass jars. I especially like the table that you have your lemons on. It looks very sturdy. That little piglet painting is darling. What a talented artist. I'd love to see more of her art.

Yes, Nel's move to Georgia took us all by surprise. But she reassures me that it will only be for a couple of years. You're right, California is different than Georgia, but sometimes a change is just what we need. Enjoy these summer days while they last. :)

  8. Your bottles and jars are cute ♥
